What to Wear,
What to Carry
& What to Expect

Coordinators: Chrystal Hera & Adnah McKenna

As we prepare for our Post-Gala Missioners Day at Oltepesi, we look forward to a meaningful day of ministry, community engagement, tree planting and fellowship.

GUIDE 01

Wear Comfortable, Closed Shoes

Flat, closed shoes such as trainers or Skechers are highly recommended. We will be walking on outdoor, dusty and potentially uneven ground. Avoid high heels, sandals and delicate footwear.

GUIDE 02

Dress in Layers

Oltepesi can be hot in the morning and windy towards the afternoon. Wear light, comfortable clothing and carry a cardigan, jacket or shawl for when the wind picks up.

GUIDE 03

Prepare for Possible Rain

Carry a lightweight raincoat or small umbrella. The weather can change, and we want you to remain comfortable throughout the day's activities.

GUIDE 04

Expect Some Dust!

We will make provision for face masks for those who may need them. You are also welcome to bring your own.

GUIDE 05

Prepare to Freshen Up

With church visits, tree planting and outdoor activities, you may get dusty and sweaty. Please plan on freshening up in Nairobi, particularly if you have an onward flight.

GUIDE 06

Carry an Offering for Ministry

We encourage you to come prepared with a voluntary offering in Kenyan shillings (KES) or US dollars (USD) to support the church ministry and mission activities during the trip.

An indicative amount is USD 10–50, entirely at your discretion and according to your ability. There is no obligation to give.

"God loves a cheerful giver." — 2 Corinthians 9:7
GUIDE 07

Carry Some Cash for Souvenirs

You may have opportunities to purchase souvenirs or locally made items during the trip. Carry some cash in Kenyan shillings or US dollars if you would like to make purchases.

The CLC teams will be on the ground to assist as and when needed.

GUIDE 08

Come With a Heart Ready to Serve

Beyond the practical preparations, come ready to fellowship, encourage one another, participate in tree planting and celebrate what God is doing through Christian literature and missions in Africa.

Most importantly, bring your joy, flexibility and sense of adventure!

Ready for Missioners Day?

Dress comfortably. Prepare for dust. Carry a cheerful offering. Come ready to serve, connect and be blessed!
