Translations

From Africa to the World!

Taking African Christian Books Beyond Borders

At CLC Kenya, we believe the message God places in a book should not be limited by language or geography. Through our growing translation work, we are opening doors for African Christian books to reach new readers, new nations, and new opportunities for Kingdom impact.

Translation is more than changing words from one language to another. It is carrying truth, testimony, discipleship, and transformation across cultures in a way that remains faithful to the heart of the original message.

Why Translations Matter

Africa is rich with powerful Christian voices, life-giving stories, biblical insight, and practical wisdom. Yet many of these books remain accessible only to readers who understand the original language of publication. Translation helps bridge that gap.

Through translation, a book can:

  • reach new countries and audiences
  • speak into different cultures and communities
  • create opportunities for rights sales and partnerships
  • increase the lifespan and influence of a message
  • position African Christian authors on the global stage

A translated book becomes a missionary in print.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see more African Christian books translated into major international and regional languages, so that the wisdom, faith, and testimony carried by African authors can serve the global Church.

We are especially passionate about helping books move into languages that open doors in Europe, Latin America, and other strategic regions, while also exploring opportunities within Africa’s own multilingual context.

About Cause

A Growing Testimony

One encouraging example is Marriage, Thistles & Flowers by Barnie and Grace Achoki from Kenya.

The book received a double translation award during the 4th ACABA Gala in Kampala, Uganda, in 2024, in recognition of its translation into Spanish and Italian. This milestone reflects the growing potential for African Christian titles to travel beyond their country of origin and serve readers in many parts of the world.

Such progress is a reminder that African-authored Christian books are not only relevant locally, but are also valuable globally.

What We Do

Through our translation and rights conversations, we seek to:

  • identify books with strong translation potential
  • connect authors and titles to international opportunities
  • encourage partnerships for rights, licensing, and distribution
  • strengthen visibility for African books in global publishing spaces
  • support authors in preparing their books for wider reach

We see translations as part of a larger publishing mission: to steward content well and position it for maximum impact.

Who This Is For

Our translation focus is especially relevant for:

  • authors whose books carry timeless, cross-cultural messages
  • publishers looking for strong African Christian content
  • partners interested in translation rights and international distribution
  • organisations seeking biblically grounded resources from African voices

Let African Voices Travel

African Christian authors carry messages the world needs to hear. Through translation, those messages can cross borders, disciple nations, encourage families, strengthen the Church, and glorify God in many languages.

We are committed to building bridges that help these books travel further.
