Message from the Convener

Dear Esteemed Guests,

It is with great joy and anticipation that I welcome you to the Uganda Gala, a day  dedicated to celebrating the remarkable achievements in Christian literature across Africa. As we gather at Hotel Africana in Kampala, we honour the authors, publishers, and all who have played a part in advancing God’s Kingdom through the written word.

This day is not only a celebration but also evidence of the power of stories that inspire, transform, and uplift our communities. We are here to recognise the dedication and hard work of those who have answered the call to be vessels of God’s truth through literature.

Thank you for joining us in this celebration, and may this event ignite a renewed passion for the ministry of Christian literature in each of us.

In Christ’s Service,
Dr. Muthoni Omukhango

Faith Meets Storytelling: Uniting African Voices To Impact Lives For God!

The African Christian Authors Book Award (ACABA) Gala offers a range of ticket options designed to cater to different needs and preferences, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

We appreciate Jean Kamina, author of The Flip Side of Betrayal (2022 Content of the Year in Biographies Category) for helping us capture the theme.  https://youtu.be/eNCeWO8qQTc?si=Uo-XKtRDismLUbU-

Did it work? Yes!

We were, by the grace of God, able to see the actualisation of this theme. The event was graced with Cristian authors, who are great storytellers. And the end of the day, our voices were united towards impacting lives for God.

We had so many miracles of how God came through for authors and the planners as well. How God fulfilled prophecies He had given His people over the last several years.

Please share with us the tesimonies of God’s doing in this year’s ACABA (at the gala or in the pre-gala year that has been).

Hit reply, share your testimony or feedback and let’s celebrate with you!

Uniting African Voices to Impact Lives for God

This theme emphasises the intersection of spiritual belief and telling stories. It invites Christian writers, storytellers, and creatives to weave their faith into their stories, whether through personal testimonies, fictional works, or thought-provoking non-fiction.

Rooted in Biblical principles, this theme encourages the sharing of God’s truth through stories that uplift, educate, and inspire others. By intertwining faith and storytelling, it highlights how powerful stories can ignite faith, encourage deeper spiritual reflection, and provide a platform for Kingdom impact in an ever-evolving world.

African Christian Authors Assured of God’s Help
Adapted from Isaiah 41:1-20 By Dr. Muthoni Omukhango
Narrated by Abiah Omukhango, Author of Conceive Achieve for Teens series

A few years ago, God, through Dr. Muthoni Omukhango, gave African Authors an assurance of His help.
At the 4th ACABA Gala in Kampala, we took time to receive this help and pray over it.
Take 5 minutes in the course of the day and recieve it as well.

This help is indeed coming to pass. Opportunities are opening for African Christian authors.

At the 4th ACABA Gala, Africa received three translation contracts (Korean, Italian and Spanish). We shall be unpacking more on this in the coming days. Praise be to God!

Dear Christian Authors, Partners & Readers

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa!

Uganda is a very rich, culturally diverse country. It is on record that Uganda holds the world’s highest biodiversity, with over 25,000 species. Not only in species, but one of the few countries in the world that has an average of 3–4 people in one place from different backgrounds. It’s a beauty to behold. Lash green vegetation, gifted by nature, and one of, if not the most friendly, countries in the world. A Rolex is not a watch in Uganda! It is a chapati fried with vegetables and eggs!

We are most humbled and honoured to be hosting the 4th ACABA Award Gala in 2024. This year, we are excited to see authors and key stakeholders from Africa and the rest of the world come to celebrate Christian literature.

The event will provide a unique platform for these individuals to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange ideas on the importance of Christian literature in today’s global society.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore various cultural perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the diverse voices shaping the world of Christian literature.
