Question: Muthoni Omukhango What strategic plans have you put in place to ensure that the nominees are engaged even after the Award Gala?

    • CLC Kenya November 6, 2023

Jackline Ingasian ACABA is more than the gala day. We have several initiatives happening in 2024 for authors whose books are already judged. January we have judges feedback (https://kenyaclc.org/book-reviews-african-christian…/…). We desire to improve the quality of books coming from Africa so we can play in the international table fairly.

February to July we have monthly Authors Training and Empowerment (topics include ebooks, audio books, blogging, podcasting, boo programs, authorpreneurship and much more. https://africanauthors.net/authors-training-and-empowerment/

Throughout the year we have Author Panels. These are webinars and conferences whether convened or virtual where authors in the same genre get to minister together in line with their writing calling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgYqtEkDyFQ

Muthoni Omukhango do we have opportunities for book tours say outside Africa to show case Africa?

    • CLC Kenya November 6, 2023

Yes. We are in partnerships with others out of Kenya and out of Africa to showcase your books.

Good Will Rights Management showcases your books at the Frankfurt Rights Fair. While we have received no feedback yet, publishing is a game of patience and something will come through for whichever author gets the opportunity.

In 2024, the opportunity for 2023 authors to be represented will open up then we wait and see what the Lord shall do.

We are in talks with CLC USA CLC Ministries USA to host the judges-approved books in the USA. We shall keep up with the plans to see what the Lord has in store on that.

Thanks so much I see we are going places

        • CLC Kenya November 6, 2023

Ruth Mueni George By the grace of God. Let’s keep at it and not giving up. If we are patient for a couple of years, we will get there.
Next year, by God’s grace we will tour Uganda and see how much we can do there. And in 2025, we will tour South Africa and see what the Lord has in store for us there. It sends shivers down my spine just thinking of the magnitude of the assignment. May we remain in God’s perfect will.

What’s the difference between ebook and PDF file

    • CLC Kenya November 6, 2023

An ebook is a digital version of a book that can be read on electronic devices such as e-readers, tablets, or smartphones. It typically has interactive features and can be easily accessed and downloaded from online platforms. On the other hand, a PDF file is a format that preserves the layout and formatting of a document, including text, images, and graphics. While an ebook can be in PDF format, not all PDF files are ebooks as they may not have the necessary features for interactive reading.

What’s the difference between traditional publishing and rights sale

    • CLC Kenya October 28, 2023

Traditional publishing refers to the process where a publishing house selects and publishes a book, taking care of editing, design, distribution, and marketing. This route often involves signing a contract with the publisher and granting them exclusive rights to publish and distribute the work.

In contrast, rights sale refer to the process of selling specific rights to a book, such as translation or film adaptation rights, to different parties. This allows authors to retain more control over their work while still benefiting from wider exposure and potential revenue streams.

What’s the difference between traditional publishing, self-publishing, and printing

    • CLC Kenya October 28, 2023

Traditional publishing, self-publishing, and printing are often confused terms in the world of books. Traditional publishing refers to the process where a publishing house selects and publishes a book, taking care of editing, design, distribution, and marketing.

On the other hand, self-publishing allows authors to take control of the entire publishing process themselves, from writing to marketing their book.

Printing, on the other hand, is simply the physical production of books. Understanding the differences between these terms is essential for authors.
