Mama Africa Book Box – MABB’s Objectives in Building Readership and Authorship in Africa

In alignment with CLC Kenya’s overarching commitment to honouring God through the provision and accessibility of Christian literature, the MABB initiative focuses on nurturing faith and maturity in children and teenagers. Rooted in a dedication to discipleship through the promotion of leisure reading, MABB delineates comprehensive objectives and strategies to achieve its mission.

Discipleship through Reading, Writing, and Publishing:

  • Facilitate an environment conducive to discipleship by producing, distributing, and promoting Christian literature tailored for children and teenagers.
  • Engage in the creation and publication of materials that resonate with the unique developmental stages of young minds, fostering a deeper connection with faith and spiritual growth.

Promotion of Leisure Reading Over Screen Time (In Collaboration with Parents):

  • Develop initiatives that encourage parents to prioritise leisure reading as a wholesome alternative to excessive screen time.
  • Collaborate with parents through awareness campaigns, workshops, and educational materials to underscore the benefits of fostering a love for reading in the digital age.

In adherence to CLC Kenya’s mission to bring people to faith and maturity in Jesus Christ, the MABB initiative aspires to cultivate a generation of spiritually grounded and literate individuals, fostering an enduring connection with Christian values through accessible and engaging literature.

By promoting literature, we can empower the next generation to challenge harmful stereotypes, like, ‘if you want to hide something from an African, put it in a book.’ This harmful stereotype keeps spreading the false idea that Africans don’t care about school or reading. It is important to see these harmful stereotypes for what they are and fight against them. We start with the little ones right at home! Mama Africa Book Box makes reading fun and exciting. Make every month a reading month with a box full of surprises.
