Thanksgiving testimony for supernatural grace and divine help – Apostle Dr. Jeanne Lidigu

First and foremost, I am obliged to acknowledge that for me, this opportunity in itself is a testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness through a human vessel. It was in the year 2016 when God began to impress upon my heart that I would write books and training manuals on Prayer. I did not know when and how this would happen and so for eight years, I waited on the Lord to bring it to pass. And now, see what the Lord has done! He opened this door for my new beginning in the writing journey.

In January 2023 when I began the journey in the writing class, I was a bit sceptical and felt like I would draw back because I feared where I could get all the words to write and the would be demands over my busy daily schedules and demands on my time, this was my ‘Goliath’. However, through prayer and words of encouragement and teaching from the CLC director, I managed to overcome these and I made up my mind to count the cost and be a part of it.

January to February is the month of my Prayer retreat and it was challenging to mix two things, thus, attending this much-needed writing class every Friday and putting my mind to focus on the subject matter of the manuscript alongside my busy Prayer and fasting program. By the supply of His strength and grace, in no time, I realised we are into the fourth week and I was strong and going on. My passion grew and I purposed not to miss the joy of attending this class. Through the intervention of grace, the rest is this testimony of the completion of my manuscript.

Secondly, when I began, I knew my limitations due to my basic knowledge of computer literacy and modern technology to get things done faster and more efficiently. Up to now, I understood that I still partly subscribe to the old school mentality, better known as ‘analogue’. It is during one of the lessons in the writing class, that Director Muthoni taught us never to compare oneself with other people. These aroused more courage within me not to compare myself with those who are more enlightened and skilful in technology in the writing class. She encouraged and prayed for us for ‘grace for our pace.’ I embraced this inspiration and my insecurities disappeared. And now I testify that I have overcome the ‘little Goliaths’ of this level. This far He has brought me, no matter how long it shall take me, I shall and must complete and have a book to my name by His grace. A few weeks are now gone and I have gained more ease and I have resolved to start a journey to be trained to perfect my skills in the use of technology that can enhance my journey in book writing. That which I feared most, did not hinder me but it has worked and it is still working to bring the best out of me.

Moreso, it is worthy to testify of God’s grace of patience, gentleness and willingness to guide us that is upon the CLC facilitators who coached us in the writing class. For me, their good and pleasant attitude, and the slogan ‘No retreat, No surrender,’ encouraged me and gave me the confidence to complete the journey. This also made me realise that it is God who had given me this opportunity and that they were destiny helpers, being used by God to birth His purpose through me for His glory.

Last but not least, despite the busy day-to-day activities and ministerial schedules as a full-time minister of the Gospel, I testify of the Holy Spirit’s help and grace to multitask. He provided the grace to sit for long hours till late at night reading and researching and still enabled me to wake up early and fresh to go and serve Him passionately in the mission field. On three occasions, especially towards the end of the 10th – 12th weeks, I suffered health and mind attacks and I contemplated quitting to wait for the next opportune time. But through quietness, rest and prayer, God kept coming through for me with timely healing and renewed strength until I finished the last chapter. To this, I testify that it is not by might or power but by His help and divine ability that I did it.

Finally, my testimony would not be complete without mentioning my improvement in some areas of personal discipline and accountability on the purposeful use of my time since I began the journey of writing. Through goal setting, I have minimised a lot of procrastination as this was my major obstacle to my call as a writer. For me, the upcoming graduation testifies of this achievement in a little way. What a joy to imagine that sooner or later I shall be a celebrated author, who obeyed God’s call to pen the commands of His voice in my generation.
