Be Still and Write: My Testimony of Growth in the CLC Kenya Writing Class – Jackline Ingasian

I am Jackline Ingasian, an author of three books and also a writer. I lead writing classes in CLC Kenya and help others develop their voices. My ministry areas involve mission work, where I find joy in helping women and young people learn the art and beauty of building a life that is anchored in being still by setting time aside to hear God as He speaks to them on directions concerning their lives. Administrating the ACABA programme has also given me joy, knowing that many countries in Africa are getting recognition with their books.

What Were You Writing About and What Was the Motivation Behind It?

Be Still: Meeting God in the Quiet

In a world filled with noise, pressure, and constant motion, Be Still: Meeting God in the Quiet is a timely invitation to slow down and rediscover the beauty of God’s presence. With warmth, biblical reflection, and gentle encouragement, the book leads readers on a journey into the spiritual discipline of stillness, where anxious hearts are calmed, weary souls are renewed, and God’s voice becomes clearer. Through Scripture, personal insight, and practical guidance, this book helps believers move beyond routine devotion into a deeper, more intimate walk with God. It is a refreshing call to step away from distraction, embrace quiet trust, and encounter the peace that can only be found in Him.

Did You Encounter a Writer’s Block? If So, How Did You Manage to Overcome It?

Yes, many times. However, the realisation that this book carries a message for generations to come anchored me. I found ways to relax away from the writing position, such as taking walks and reading books that relate to my genre so that I could be inspired. This helped to restore my desire to write again. Prayer too played a big role.

How Did You Handle the Feedback, Whether Positive or Negative, During the Writing Class Journey?

I handled feedback with humility and with the desire to be corrected so that I can become a good writer of the many books that God will be writing through me.

How Did You Prioritise Your Writing Journey and Other Commitments in Life?

I set aside time for each task, and this helped me not to drop the ball on any of them. In this way, I was effective in handling both assignments.

What Was Your Experience with Content Writing in the Jade Writing Class? Was the Class Beneficial to You? Can You Recommend Someone to Join a Writing Class?

As a facilitator, the experience was superb. Seeing other writers sacrifice time and energy to write, and watching their accountability, was truly humbling. Graduating the biggest class since inception was also a confirmation of God’s calling upon my life.

As a writer, the experience was also one of trusting God every step of the way to guide me in His thought pattern for His people. This gave me moments of reflection to read more and more as He poured it into me, and as a ready writer I penned every word.

I would recommend everyone to join the class because through it, ideas move from the heart to the manuscript, and then to a book in the later stages. Accountability and group writing also spice up the journey, and the encouragement from fellow writers plays a big role.

Any Word for Other Aspiring Writers and Beginning Authors?

Just do it. Do it afraid, but still do it until you see the fruit of it.

Closing Thoughts

My journey has reminded me that writing is not only about words on a page, but also about obedience, growth, and trusting God through the process. It has shown me the power of discipline, prayer, and community in helping a writer press on. To anyone carrying a message in their heart, my encouragement is simple: begin, keep going, and trust God for the fruit.

CLC Kenya Celebrates 16 Graduating Writers from the Jade Writing Mentorship Class

CLC Kenya joyfully celebrated the virtual graduation of 16 writers from the Jade Writing Mentorship Class, marking another milestone in raising Christian authors across Africa.

Facilitated by Jackline Ingasian and hosted by Dr. Muthoni Omukhango, the graduation brought together writers from Kenya, South Sudan and Zimbabwe who have completed manuscripts across various genres, including memoirs, marriage guidance, Christian living, parenting, children’s devotionals, inner healing, financial stewardship, leadership, and discipleship.

During the ceremony, each writer shared their writing journey, the inspiration behind their book, and the lessons learnt through the mentorship process. The event also highlighted CLC Kenya’s wider mission of advancing the gospel through Christian literature, a mission connected to CLC’s global work across 44 countries.

The CLC Kenya’s Writing Class has continued to grow since its beginning in 2020, raising writers who are not only completing manuscripts but also preparing to publish books that will serve families, churches, communities, and nations.

The 2026 graduating writers were encouraged to move forward into the publishing and marketing phase, with the hope of celebrating their published works in 2027 with an in-person graduation set for 28th November 2026 at Garden Estate.

As the session closed in prayer and thanksgiving, the charge was clear: graduation is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of greater stewardship. These writers carry stories, testimonies, teachings, and messages that can impact Africa and beyond.
