I am a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Christ. I am a family man, married to Nyasha, and we have three biological children. I am a Pastor, Life Coach, Speaker, Author and Trainer.
What I Am Writing About and My Motivation
I wrote The Becoming Life to communicate that life is a process, and process may not be easy, but when perceived and handled well, it can be worth it.
Many in the church are living in perpetual discouragement because of a failure to discern and appreciate seasons of formation. We have demonised waiting and pain, while it is clear that these were often God’s tools to build His people, and to build Kingdom values and priorities within them.
I noticed that the 21st-century church has tried to cast out the devil where he was not even present. In so doing, we have accused those going through crisis seasons of lacking faith, of opening doors to the evil one, and of not being prayerful or powerful enough.
I wrote to sensitise people to another way of looking at what we go through, and to allow God to use all things to develop us for His glory. Hence, The Becoming Life.
Encountering Writer’s Block
I encountered writer’s block a few times. I would step away and engage in different activities that would refresh my mind. I would also take a rest and briefly forget about the work.
Handling Feedback During the Writing Class Journey
I was encouraged by both sections of the feedback. I saw the need to keep refining and the desire to produce work that meets and exceeds standards. I am still a long way off, but with feedback, I believe I will continually improve.
Prioritising My Writing Journey and Other Commitments
It was not easy to prioritise writing. I have a lot on my plate, with numerous demanding commitments. But I had to block out time for writing. I did not always manage, but it helped me push as far as I went.
My Experience in the Jade Writing Class
I loved the lessons. Some were really simple, yet deeply profound. I felt we could have easily missed the depth in the simplicity, especially those of us who have published before.
I learned to put my all into the work, and to demand excellence of myself in all the work I will do from here on.
A Word for Aspiring Writers and Beginning Authors
Writing is a great way of getting the message out there, but you need mentors and coaches for the journey. Submit to continuous learning, and you will be an author worth your salt.
Closing Reflection
My journey in CLC Kenya’s Jade Writing Class reminded me that writing is not merely about putting words on paper. It is about stewarding a message with diligence, humility and excellence. Through the process, the feedback and the lessons, I have been challenged to keep growing, keep refining and keep becoming all that God has called me to be.

CLC Kenya Celebrates 16 Graduating Writers from the Jade Writing Mentorship Class
CLC Kenya joyfully celebrated the virtual graduation of 16 writers from the Jade Writing Mentorship Class, marking another milestone in raising Christian authors across Africa.
Facilitated by Jackline Ingasian and hosted by Dr. Muthoni Omukhango, the graduation brought together writers from Kenya, South Sudan and Zimbabwe who have completed manuscripts across various genres, including memoirs, marriage guidance, Christian living, parenting, children’s devotionals, inner healing, financial stewardship, leadership, and discipleship.
#Graduation Flip Book

During the ceremony, each writer shared their writing journey, the inspiration behind their book, and the lessons learnt through the mentorship process. The event also highlighted CLC Kenya’s wider mission of advancing the gospel through Christian literature, a mission connected to CLC’s global work across 44 countries.
The CLC Kenya’s Writing Class has continued to grow since its beginning in 2020, raising writers who are not only completing manuscripts but also preparing to publish books that will serve families, churches, communities, and nations.
The 2026 graduating writers were encouraged to move forward into the publishing and marketing phase, with the hope of celebrating their published works in 2027 with an in-person graduation set for 28th November 2026 at Garden Estate.
As the session closed in prayer and thanksgiving, the charge was clear: graduation is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of greater stewardship. These writers carry stories, testimonies, teachings, and messages that can impact Africa and beyond.
